Two written questions decide who gets in. The first is a statement about reality, printed below, that you either mean or you do not. The second asks what would change your mind about something you hold firmly.

Our shared reality is all we have. Events have causes, some outcomes are luck, and none of it is a message. What remains is each other and whatever we work out together.

The second question is written, not chosen.
Name something you hold firmly, then describe what would change your mind about it. An answer that nothing could change is recorded as a refusal. Kindreder does not check whether the belief is a good one, only whether it is held by a person who can still move.
A person who cannot be wrong is dangerous to be close to.
People defending a story about themselves escalate when they are cornered, and much of what partners do to each other is done to avoid being seen clearly. The premise is written to be affirmed or refused, with no room to read it a third way.
Designed to reveal character.
Nobody writes a bio here. The intake asks what you did with last Saturday, how many nights a week you want someone there, and what you do when an argument corners you. Character shows in decisions, not adjectives.
It asks what you did, not what you are like.
Two people can both call themselves adventurous and want opposite weekends. What either of them actually did last Saturday can be compared.
Every question says who will see it.
Shown to your match word for word, used to describe you, or never shown to anyone. The label sits beside the question while you answer it.
The questions people shade are typed.
A list of options lets you pick something acceptable. Where the honest answer matters most, the intake gives you an empty box instead.
It asks the same thing twice.
What you do with a weekend, and what you would like to be doing. The gap between those two answers is the most useful thing in the intake.
You meet people, not profiles.
Each introduction carries what you both want, the one thing you want differently, and the date the person was admitted. Nothing about them is arranged to look better than it is.

Either person can ask for one and either can send one. No photograph decides who is introduced to whom.

Fair questions.
Who sees my answers?
Some answers are shown to a match word for word, some are used to write one sentence describing you, and some are never shown to anyone. Every question says which of the three it is, at the moment you answer it.
Why does it ask about testing and contraception?
Two people otherwise find out in bed. A limit you set is also only real if it is enforced against these answers, so someone who requires barriers is not introduced to someone who refuses them. No member is ever shown this part of your intake.
Who is behind this, and how is it paid for?
One person built Kindreder and funds it. There is no investor and no advertising. Members do not pay during the private beta, and anything that changes will be written here before it changes.
Is any of this sold or used to train a model?
No. Answers are not sold, not licensed, and not used to train a model.
What happens if I delete my account?
Every answer, introduction and message is removed within thirty days, backups included. Kindreder keeps a record that an account existed and nothing about whose it was.
How long does the intake take?
About twenty-five minutes. Most questions are answered with a tap; the rest are typed. You can leave and come back to it.
What will you actually ask me?
Every question is published in full, with the label showing who sees each answer. The only exception is the last five, which are typed and worth more answered on the spot than rehearsed. Read the intake →
